Firefox, Spam, 2FA, and APIs... ho-hum another dull week

Well, it's a new year and traffic in the Community is really picking up with an eclectic collection of posts this week. We just hit 8,900 threads in this Community with more than 9,900 posts... and the pace of interactivity among Autotask users through this Community is continuing to accelerate!
This week is typical of the range of topics we've covered. Obviously, way too many to enumerate here. All you need to do is look at all your unread threads through the drop-down on the main Autotask menu, and you'll know what I mean. But here are a few of my favorites for the week:
Firefox... when will it happen? Oh the great debate rages on. One of the most widely read and commented on forum in this Community is our great Firefox debate. Lot of people (including me) prefer this browser over Internet Explorer, which is the only browser that Autotask currently supports for the core application. We've made it clear that we are committed to ULTIMATELY moving towards multii-browser support, but also pointed out that the overhead that would create for us would dramatically retard our ability to continue to refine and innovate our application -- and you can see from the new feature requests that there is an insatiable appetite for us to put more in. So the trade off is stop and slow down everything in IE so we can guarantee 100% performance in Firefox and other browsers too... or GET IT RIGHT in IE, and then open it up to other browsers. Read both sides here.
Spam in our Application. Are you kidding me? You have to read about how some folks take offense to our use of the "welcome" panel on the left hand side of the Autotask application. This is one of the funniest forums I've seen in the Community, and worth a read if you're in the mood for a chuckle.
Special Offer From AuthAvil. When we announced our first offering for 2-Factor Authentication, we had lots of security-minded customers jump at the opportunity and immediately ordered tokens for their staff. But a few customers already had real-time password security systems they were using for other applications, and were concerned about have to carry around a keychain full of electronic password tokens. AuthAnvil, stepped up to the plate with a terrific offer for Autotask customers who use their software. Read about it here.
Secret Button In Autotask. One of our customers was lamenting about a decline in the number of quick phone support tickets his tech was entering since they ditched a home-grown, quick-and-dirty system to quickly record the call and the time, without all the stuff you need to do with the sophisticated Autotask ticketing system. Well, it turns out that there are several little-known short-cuts you can take to DRAMATICALLY streamline the process of handling tickets with phone support that many users don't know about. They are revealed in this post. Check it out!
Autotask Community Live! Update. The big news for our first annual worldwide user conference -- scheduled for the end of March -- is that this week we announced the deadline for our early-bird discount. Register before the end of this month an you'll save $200. Serious bucks off the $495 registration fee. Honestly, this is a total give-away. $495 won't even come close to paying for your food and the venue, to say nothing of the entertainment, parties, and work associated with putting on an event for more than 500 people. But we dropped the price for Early Birds to make it affordable for everyone who want to attended during these tough economic times. Get the details here.
